Why metal-free fillings?
At ndu Clinic, we do not place mercury amalgam fillings. Instead, we use BPA-free composite resin, a modern, tooth-coloured material that bonds directly to the tooth. This approach preserves more healthy tooth structure than amalgam (which requires mechanical retention) and produces a result that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
Our approach to fillings
When a filling is needed, we take a conservative, minimally invasive approach. We remove only the decayed tooth structure, preserving as much healthy tooth as possible. The BPA-free composite is then carefully applied in layers, shaped to match your tooth's natural anatomy, and hardened with a curing light. The result is a strong, natural-looking restoration.
For larger cavities where a direct filling may not provide sufficient strength, we may recommend a ceramic inlay or onlay, which is fabricated by a specialist laboratory for a precise fit and exceptional durability.
